Hyman Kaplan, widely known in Jewish social service circles of New York City and other large Eastern centers, has come to San Francisco to assume his new duties as executive director of the Federation of Jewish Charities.
His position, created more than a year ago, remained vacant until now while a committee of Federation leaders canvassed the country for a suitable person to assume the place. In New York Kaplan was associate director of the Bureau of Jewish Social Research. Prior to his work in New York City he was in charge of the Jewish Federation in Cincinnati.
