The ZR-3, expected to leave on its trans-Atlantic voyage Saturday, Ocober 11, was built under the direction of Engineer Karl Arnstein, according to information made known here.
Karl Arnstein, who holds the title of Doctor of Engineering of the University of Prague, is thirty-seven years of age. He was formerly assistant professor of the Department of Bridge Building in Prague University, Chief Engineer of the Strasbourg Zuegling Company, builders of the Langenwieser Railway Bridge, which was the subject of admiration and scientific discussion at the Berlin Shipbuilding Congress. In 1915 Arnstein was appointed a member of the staff of the Zeppelin works at Friedrichshafen, where he is now the chief engineer.
Mr. Arnstein was considered for a lectureship at the German Technicum in Prague in 1923. He was, however, rejected on account of his Jewish faith.
