Karl Helft, a Jewish merchant of Eisleben, who was attacked by Nazis, is reported to be in a critical condition.
Physicians are making a desperate effort to save Helft’s eyesight, according to the editor-in-chief of the “Vorwacrts”, who went to Eisleben to investigate the clash in which Helft was injured.
Thirty Nazis, according to the editor’s report, attacked Helft as he was walking alone through the streets. They threw him to the ground and then prodded him with the heels of their shoes.
