An organization to supervise observance of the Jewish slaughtering and dietary laws, entitled the Tri-County Vaad Hakashruth, has been formed here, with the cooperation of rabbinical and lay Jewish leaders from Camden, Burlington and Gloucester Counties. Alexander E. Segal, of Congregation Sons of Israel, has been elected president of the new body, and Rabbi Bernard E. Rothman has been appointed director.
Under the supervision of the Vaad Hakashruth, all Jewish catering services as well as Jewish butchers in the entire area will be inspected, and strict fulltime kashruth supervision will be provided to kosher summer camps. Caterers will be required to have fulltime kashruth supervisors on their premises.
