The president of the former Soviet republic of Kazakhstan was in Israel this week for a three-day visit.
President Nursultan Nazarbaev was accompanied by a 110-member delegation, which included 15 ministers.
During his stay, several cooperation agreements between Israel and Kazakhstan were signed.
In meetings with Israeli officials, Nazarbaev asked Israel for aid in developing his country’s natural resources.
On the agenda for a meeting between Prime Minister Shimon Peres and Nazarbaev were security issues, including Israel’s concern about Iranian-backed Islamic fundamentalism.
