The new infringement of the status quo of the Wailing Wall was brought to the attention of the government by Lieut-Commander Kenworthy, in a question raised yesterday in the House of Commons.
Kenworthy asked the Colonial Secretary whether the government is aware of the further infringements of the status quo by the Moslem Supreme Council. He pointed out that a Muedzin calls Moslems to prayer five times daily from a roof over the wall, and that the Moslems have established a hospice in the house adjacent to the Wall.
Lieut. Commander Kenworthy stated to a representative of the Jewish Telegraphic Agency that he intends to do all in his power to bring to the attention of parliament and the government the facts in the case of the Wailing Wall so as to prevent further occurrences.
