Jewish life in war-time Australia and New Zealand was described here today by Michael Traub, representative of the Keren Hayesod, at a luncheon tendered to him at the Biltmore Hotel under the chairmanship of Kurt Blumenfeld, Keren Hayesod director, of Jerusalem.
Mr. Traub, who arrived here after completing a successful drive for the Keren Hayesod in Australia and New Zealand, reported that he also raised $1,000,000 in South Africa for the organization and that the money came chiefly from middle-class Jews.
