Emulating the kidnap gangs in America, a band of White Russians today kidnaped Leib Mali, son of a prominent contractor for the East-China Railway, and notified his parents that he is being held for ransom.

The kidnaping took place near a syiagogue in the heart of the Jewish district here. The kidnaped youth is twenty years old. He was forced by his abductors to send a note to his father pleading that he pay the ransom and not notify the police, or he would be tortured and murdered.

Jacob Mali, father of the kidnaped boy, was scheduled to leave for Soviet Russia with his son, since he lost his contract with the railway following its sale by the Soviet to the Japanese government. A brother of Jacob was kidnaped and killed by bandits recently.
