A 70-year-old Jewish businessman who was kidnapped Friday, returned safely last night after his family reportedly paid $1.5 million ransom to the kidnappers. Naum Kacowicz, a former president of the Buenos. Aires Jewish Hospital, was abducted while being driven from a slaughterhouse and meat packing plant that he supervises.
Police know of the kidnapping but did not intervene at the request of the family who negotiated in secret with the kidnappers. The abduction of Kacowicz was apparently a purely criminal act without political overtones. The victim, who suffers from a heart condition, was given medication by his abductors on the instructions of his doctor.
