Kiev authorities detained 77 people who they said were planning to participate in a torch procession commemorating Ukrainian wartime Nazi SS fighters. Police made the arrests Saturday following a ruling last Friday by the Kiev District Court banning the march, planned for Sunday in downtown Kiev. Police said they also discovered a cab in downtown Kiev carrying the Nazi insignia, torches and fireworks. An investigation is under way.
