Alexander Kinderman, German caretaker, has confessed setting all three fires in the West End Synagogue on March 27, the last of which caused damage estimated at over $200,000 according to a new confession made public today by Fire Commissioner McElligott.
Fire Marshal Thomas P. Brophy, whose staff conducted the investigation said he was certain “a sudden mental breakdown” caused Kinderman to start the fires.
