King Frederik IX and Queen Ingrid of Denmark attended last night’s concert of the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra, which is currently on tour in Europe. The concert, which was a great success, included composer Joseph Kaminski’s “Israeli Sketches.”
It was also announced that the orchestra would present a special “Israel Independence” concert in Stockholm this week-end. The Israel Legation in Stockholm has postponed its annual Independence Day reception until the evening before the concert. The same day, the Mayor of the Swedish capital will honor the members of the orchestra at a municipal reception.
