King Paul awarded the Gold Cross of the Order of George the First to Rabbi Moissis Pessah of Volos, in Western Greece, it was reported here today. Rabbi Pessah had urged his congregation to flee to the hills during the German occupation of Greece, and thus saved them from deportation and slaughter. The Rabbi is 85 years of age.
