Kishineff Jews Sentenced to Prison for Self-defense Against Excesses

Self-defense of Roumanian Jews against anti-Semitic attacks is a crime punishable by imprisonment or fine, according to a decision of the Kishineff Court, a despatch from that city to the Vienna “6 Uhr Blatt” states.

Nine young Jews were brought to trial for defending themselves during the anti-Jewish excesses in Kishineff last January. Abraham Kleinman, who headed the group, was sentenced to one year’s strict confinement, three were sentenced to six months each and one was fined one million lei.
