Under a ruling handed down by Judge E. W. Dingwell, the Ku Klux Klan of Adair County, Iowa, must pay city taxes upon its local headquarters, the judge deciding that evidence presented failed to uphold the Klan’s contention that it is a “charitable, benevolent and fraternal” organization exempt from taxation.

State Klan headquarters, it is said, regarded the case as a test applicable to other organizations in the State.
