Nazi-hunter Serge Klarsfeld has been awarded the Legion of Honor for services “rendered to France and humanity as a whole.” A senior member of the French government will make the actual presentation next month. Several other Jews were also given the coveted award: Jean Schwoebel and Lucien Israel, both highly respected university professors; Marcel Lupovici, a motion picture and theater producer; and Pierre Schwinte, a mathematician.
