Over $100,000 in checks and pledges for the new B’nai B’rith building was handed to Philip M Klutznick, president of the organization, at a homecoming reception held for him in the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel here. The new building is being erected in Washington at a cost of more than one million dollars.
More than 300 B’nai B’rith men and women officers from all parts of the country, who participated in a special four-week building food drive for this gift, were on hand to witness the presentation and to welcome home their chief officer. Mr. Klutznick has just come back from a six-week tour of Europe and Israel, where he conferred with B’nai B’rith leaders and inspected projects in Israel sponsored by the B’nai B’rith. The building fund drive was under the overall direction of Maurice Bisgyer, secretary of B’nai B’rith.
