Some 30 members of Israel’s Parliament, including deputies of every party except the Mapam and the Communists, met here today to consider action by the government to ban the breeding of hogs and the sale of pork in the Jewish State.
The meetings, called by Poale Agudah leader Benjamin Mintz, elected an “actions committee” of ten, each representing a different party. Among the deputies at the meeting was Mapai leader Meir Argov, who was as vehement in his demand that pork sales be ended as were the religious representatives.
