A bill extending for another six months the government’s authority to restrict motor transport as a fuel conservation measure was introduced in the Knesset today.
The bill requires that all cars and trucks be idled at least one day a week and that no automobile traffic go beyond the zone of residence of its operator. Penalties for violators area maximum of one years’ imprisonment, a fine of 5, 000 pounds and permanent revocation of the driver’s license.
