The Knesset rejected a private member’s bill to establish an upper house in the Israeli Parliament. The bill had been introduced by Uri Avneri, an independent member, who said the purpose was to advance senior members of the Knesset to an upper house to enable the influx of “fresh blood” into the existing house.
