The Israel Parliament resumed its session today after a two-month recess. However, the Premier’s report which normally would be presented now, was postponed until next week when it is hoped the international and domestic situations will be further clarified.
In the Knesset, and in a Cabinet meeting which was also held today, the strains of the recent Mapai-General Zionist conflict were evident. In the House, Speaker Joseph Sprinzak, in an appeal to both parties, urged that the “election microphones should not be heard through the Knesset’s microphones.” In the Cabinet, the General Zionists presented a number of grievances to their Laborite partners.
Today’s Cabinet meeting was the third special meeting in the past two weeks. Premier Moshe Sharett called on the centrists to adhere to the principle of “collective responsibility” on the basis of which the coalition Cabinet was formed,
