Knesset Votes Increased Penalties for Arab Infiltrators

The Israel Parliament approved ## first reading of a bill to increase the penalties to be imposed on infiltr## Israel’s borders and on persons in Israel who aid or abet the marauder## Communist deputies and those affiliated with Dr. Moshe Sneh’s left gro## expelled from the Mapam voted against the measure.

Winding up the debate on the measure, Acting Defense Minister Pi## admitted that the government knew that the bill would work hardship on## some of the affected border areas and sometimes to innocent people. ## we do?” he asked. “We are in a state of war. The Israel-Jordan Mixed Armistice Commission held two sessions## the first Jordan was censured for the “brutal killing of two Israel sol## trators, while at the second session Israel was censured for the “bar## an Arab Legion medical officer by Israeli irregulars.”
