Three knitting mills which attempted to open despite the strike of the Knit Goods Workers’ Union, called last Wednesday, were closed yesterday when visited by picketing committees which instructed workers to walk out.

A conference will be held today between strike leaders and employers at the office of Ben Golden, executive secretary of the Regional Labor Board. David Dubinsky, international president of the Ladies Garment Workers’ Union, said yesterday he is hopeful an amicable settlement will be achieved at the meeting.
