Kofi Annan asked Lebanon’s prime minister to respect a U.N.-demarcated border with Israel. In a letter sent last week to Lebanese Prime Minister Fouad Siniora, the U.N. secretary-general said the Shebaa Farms matter should be settled between Syria and Lebanon. Siniora welcomed the letter and issued a statement saying that it clarified “that the case is limited to Syria and Lebanon and needs to be agreed upon by these two sides only.”
