Mikhail Korenblit’s ulcer condition has severely worsened, the Greater New York Conference on Soviet Jewry learned today. Korenblit, serving a seven-year term as a result of the second Leningrad trial, developed ulcers while in the labor camp. His wife, Polina, currently in New York, was told by Moscow relatives that her husband said the food and general conditions in the camp are unbearable. He eats very little and is forced to do very heavy physical labor. A dentist by profession, Korenblit works as a lumberjack, cutting trees and slicing them into planks.
