Valery Kornblit, a 32-year-old Jewish activist in Moscow, has been told to report for a medical examination Wednesday in connection with his possible drafting into the Army, the Student Struggle for Soviet Jewry reported today. The SSSJ called the move an “obvious attempt” to stifle Jewish dissent in the USSR. The group also reported that four Jewish activists–Viktor Yachot, Joseph Begun, Gavriel Shapiro and Boris Orlov–were warned by the Moscow authorities not to stage demonstrations during Passover.
