Kosher meat butchers will be provided for when the new law restricting kosher slaughtering goes into effect on Jan. 1, the Minister of Agriculture has assured a delegation from the Jewish Union of Traders.
He said that present butchers would be permitted to become partners of those who receive the Government concessions for sale of kosher meat provided for under the law.
Sausage manufacturers will be allowed to purchase kosher meat from other concession-holders, in addition to the quota allowed them, he stated. The quota of kosher meat will be set at sixty per cent of the total meat slaughtered, he stated.
