The reports of large scale attacks on the Jews of Kovel three weeks ago as reported in the Kovel papers are largely exaggerated and to some extent untrue, according to a statement in today Warsaw Yiddish daily, “Haint,” by Rabbi Chaim Moshe Twersky of Kovel. He says that the attacks were not anti-Semitic in origin and that the authorities carried out their duties properly.
