David L. Kramer of Newark was elected president of the New Jersey Council of B’nai B’rith, at a quarterly conference of the council today at Temple Emanu-El. Other officers elected are Judge Joseph Sigler, Newark; David Klausner, Jersey City; Hannah Strahs, Paterson; Max Lunsky, East Orange; Mary Ogens, Irvington, and Benjamin Friedman, Camden.
Speakers at the afternoon session of the conference were Dr. B. S. Pollock, treasurer of B’nai B’rith District No. 3; Rabbi Irving Silman, president of the Bergen County Federation of Jewish organization; William Unterman; Joseph Herbach; Harry Green, and David Klausner, president of the Jersey City B’nai B’rith. Max J. Kohler, who was unable to be present, wired a message, expressing his support of the Rafferty bill now under consideration in the New Jersey legislature.
