Fritz Kreisler, noted violinist who appeared here in a concert last night, told his friends backstage that he had refused to play in Germany as long as the persecution of the Jews continued, the London Daily Express reported today.
Fritz Kreisler did not appear in a concert in Germany in 1934, NBC Artists Service, Mr. Kreisler’s managers in the United States, informed the Jewish Daily Bulletin. Mr. Kreisler refused to comment on German political events and on the anti-Nazi boycott while in the United States, his managers declared, insisting that he was a violinist, not a politician.
