The Ku Klux Klan was suddenly thrust into the Senate oil scandal hearings, states the National Catholic Welfare Conference News Service.

It was intimated that the Klan received $100,000 of the oil “slush fund” the disposition of which the Senate committee has been tracing for months.

Perhaps even more startling was a declaration by Senator Walsh of Montana, the committee “prosecutor,” that there is reliable information the Klan received this large sum “from the Republicans,” says the Catholic News Service.
