The Labor Party fully supports Premier Yitzhak Rabin on his present mission to Washington, Labor Party General Secretary Meir Zarmi said at a party regional meeting last night. He stressed that this support included not only Labor but the Alignment itself, Labor and Mapam.
Zarmi promised that there will be party elections before the end of the year, a move long demanded by many branches of the party but postponed because of differences of opinion within its ranks. It was assumed here that the party leadership now believes these differences have diminished, Zarmi concluded by stating that although the cooperation with Mapam will continue, its form–Alignment, merger or coalition–is still undecided.
