The national council of the National Labor Committee for Palestine, at its meeting today, voted to cable $50,000 to the Histadruth, the Palestine Federation of Labor, for aid to refugee children arriving in Palestine.
The council paid tribute to the memory of the late Dr. Arthur Ruppin, expert on Palestine colonization, who encouraged the formation of cooperative and collective farms by the young pioneers. Isaac Hamlin, national secretary, reported on the activities of the Histadruth councils throughout the United States and Canada, which hope to raise $1,000,000 for the wartime program of the Palestine labor movement. Early returns indicate that the 1942 record of $571,000 will be exceeded, he stated.
