In a report submitted to the ninth annual convention of the Canadian Congress of Labor held here, its national committee for racial tolerance appealed for greater efforts to fight discrimination in industry and for the adoption of a Bill of Rights by the Canadian parliament.
The convention also heard the charge that post-war immigrants to Canada include “individuals who had every sort of connection with the Nazis.” One delegate told the convention that some of the immigrants had been found wearing German S.S. uniforms in Canadian lumber camps.
