Labor legislator Weizman Shiri will become Israel’s new deputy defense minister. Shiri was offered the post by Defense Minister Benjamin Ben-Eliezer after the current deputy defense minister, Dalia Rabin-Pelossof, resigned over what she said was the government’s unwillingness to negotiate with the Palestinians.
