Labor Party leader Ehud Barak was overwhelmingly elected prime minister of Israel, according to exit polls cited by Israel’s Channel 1 Television. He received 58.5 percent of the vote to 41.5 percent for Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, according to exit polls released within minutes after the polls closed in Israel.
