An offer by the United States government negotiate to security pact with Israel would help to encourage a peaceful settlement between the Arab states and Israel. It was urged in a resolution adopted today by the National Labor Zionist Assembly at a two day session which concluded here today More than 800 delegates from all sections of the country met for the Assembly, convened to formulate Labor Zionist policies and to mark the 50th anniversary of the movement in this country The resolution also urged American economic and technical aid to Israel and the Arab countries, so that the stability of the Middle East and the resistance of under privileged peoples to Communist subversion an be assured.
In a declaration on immigration, the assembly called upon the Labs Zionist movement to make a practical advance in the direction of organizing immigration Americans to Israel by carrying out a registration of members of the Labor Zionist organizations who want to go to Israel Is was estimated that there are at cast 1,000 members who desire aliyah ### and who are seeking ways to bring it about.”
Asserting that an instrument through which these people could achieve these purpose was lacking, the assembly instructed an executive, which was set up at today s session to undertake the following tasks ### Determine the aliyah potential among the Labor Zionist membership through the distribution of a questionnaire in all branch of our movement 2 Register all members who are prepared for aliyah; 3 Organize these registering into different categories according to the needs and intentions of each as brought out by the questionnaire
ISSUES DECLARATION ON 50 YEARS OF ITS MOVEMENT IN AMERICA
In a special anniversary declaration, the assembly took note of the first Poale Zion convention in Baltimore on May 1 1905 and revealed that the obse{SPAN}###nce{/SPAN} of the Labor Zion movement’s 50th anniversary will go on from now until the {SPAN}###{/SPAN} of the year when the anniversary of the second Poale Zion {SPAN}###tion, held in December 1905 will be marked. The assembly urged that anniversary declaration held in every city ### this country in which branches of the movement exist.{/SPAN}Louis Segal me {SPAN}###{/SPAN} of the Jewish Agency and general secretary of the {SPAN}###{/SPAN}{SPAN}###{/SPAN} Zionist Order out{SPAN}###{/SPAN} program of political action designed to help {SPAN}###{/SPAN} He charged the Administration with wooing the Arabs at Israel’s excluded.
Baruch Zuckerman, of the Jewish Agency, suggested that e special immigrations department of the Labor Zionist movement in the U.S. should be created to work out a program for encouraging immigration to Israel. The department’s first task he said should be to examine the immigration potential, and a questionnaire should be sent to all cons ###ent organizations and individuals to determine what immigration prospect are.
The Government of Israel is considering new met### of attracting increased immigration from the United States and is now examining a proposal to ### special budget to this end, declared Shlomo Z Shragai, member of the Agency executive in Jerusalem Mr. Shragai revealed that the Jewish Agency is placing funds at the disposal of the Labor Zionist movement in the U.S for preliminary organizational activities to increase immigration to Israel from the United States.
