The 1956 “Humanitarian Award” of the labor movement will be awarded to Sen. Herbert H. Lehman, it was announced following a meeting of the executive council of AFL-CIO here. The award is in recognition of Sen. Lehman’s “outstanding contribution to humanity in his whole public career as Senator, Governor, for his work in community ventures, and his championship of liberal causes.”
