Henry R. Labouisse has resigned from the post he has held for four years as director of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East. The resignation, effective June 15, was announced here today.
Dag Hammarskjold, UN Secretary General, in making the announcement, declared he had accepted the resignation with “deep regrets.” According to Mr. Hammarskjold and Mr. Labouisse, the resignation was due to “personal and family reasons,” which will compel Mr. Labouisse to make his home in the United States.
