Baron Alfred Guinzbourg, Senator Justin Godart and Boris Gourevitch, general-secretary of the Committee for the Defense of Jewish Rights in Central and Eastern Europe, are among the sponsors of this plan, it was learned here.

Simultaneously, further details were made known regarding the intention of the Syrian government to assign a hundred thousand hectares of cultivable land in the Valley of Gab for Jewish agricultural settlement. It is stated that Jewish colonization there can be envisaged with a modest investment.

Other territories in Syria where Jews will be permitted to settle were also announced today. They include large tracts of land north of the Republic of Lebanon, outside the Palestine frontier, and certain tracts near the Deir-ez-zor, on the upper Euphrates and the Oronte.
