Large Contributions to Hebrew Union College Endowment Fund Listed

Pledges to the Hebrew Union College’s new Endowment Fund, of which Adolph S. Ochs, of New York City, is Chairman, have been received from many persons, it is announced here. In addition to his gift of $50,000, Murry Guggenheim, of New York City, has promised an additional contribution of the sum of $50,000, the second pledge to be effective as soon as the new Endowment Fund has reach the sum of $2,000,000.

The new fund was established slightly more than two years ago by the Union of American Hebrew Congregations and the Campaign was entrusted to Mr. Ochs as Chairman.

Since that time he has obtained pledges from men and women in many sections of the country, the latest and largest contribution being that by Julius Rosenwald of Chicago, Ill., for the sum of $500,000.
