A large government surplus from Palestinian revenue during the years of 1932 and 1933 is revealed in the report of the Palestine treasurer.
The report, which was made public yesterday, showed a surplus of 1,230,296 pounds. Local bank deposits totaled seven million pounds and another three million were being held abroad to Palestine credit.
The report declared “the unprecedented favorable economic conditions show no signs of abatement.”
The Jewish role in the creation of this huge governmental surplus was not mentioned.
