Mr. Laski opposed the resolution, saying: “I could not conceive anything more inflammable at the present moment. While we should regret that we were unable to achieve more, we must be thankful even for the limited guarantees, particularly in view of the fact that the Saar question imperiled the peace of Europe.
“Generally the international situation has eased, but conditions are very difficult for the German Jews,” Mr. Laski declared.
