The elected council of the Warsaw Jewish community, meeting for the last time before dissolution, protested to the Government today against being replaced by an appointed commissar Maurici Maizel has been named commissar for Jewish communal affairs, ending the autonomy of the largest Jewish community in Europe.
The council decided to contribute about 10,000 zlotys (approximately $2,500) for the Palestine emergency campaign.
