President Truman is expected to make a statement on Palestine today at his press conference indicating reaffirmation of his 1946 demand for the immediate admission of 100,000 Jews to Palestine under the new U.S. Proposal which would place the country under U.N. trusteeship.
A report on American policy on Palestine was given today by Secretary of State Marshal at a closed session of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee. No details were disclosed, but it was learned from unofficial sources that Marshall allegedly hold the Committee that the Administration decided to reverse its pro-partition stand to interim trusteeship in view of the world situation.
