It is learned here that the last synagogue in the town of Homel, in Soviet White Russia, has been requisitioned by the local soviet. The synagogue, situated in the center of the town, which is inhabited largely by Jews, was turned into headquarters of the local soviet. A delegation which complained to the soviet was told the authorities had no objection to the opening of another synagogue not situated in the center of the town if 100 signatures were collected of religious Jews testifying their readiness to use it.
