The largest specific bequest in the will of the late Mayor Anton J. Cermak was one of $10,000 to Ald. Henry Sonnenschein, for many years the late Mayor’s confidential secretary. The will was filed for probate Saturday before assistant Probate Judge Oscar S. Caplan. In all it is estimated the late Mayor’s estate was $250,000. He left many bequests to charity and his family. At the time of his wife’s death four years ago, he gave a large sum of money to the Jewish Charities of Chicago in her memory.
Alderman Sonnenschein yesterday was appointed by the Democratic County Committee of Cook County to be the Committeeman from the 22nd Ward, a position held by the late Mayor for 25 years.
