The U.S. Senate, in what amounted to a unanimous action, condemned France today for releasing Palestinian terrorist Abu Daoud and urged the Carter Administration to “consult promptly with France and other friendly nations” to prevent the recurrence of such an episode. The sense-of-the Senate resolution was supported by 93 Senators, seven short of the chamber’s full membership. The other members were absent. There was no dissenting voice.
