Six Israeli soldiers were killed and 16 injured in the mountains east of Beirut when unidentified gunmen opened fire on a bus full of Israeli troops, according to Israeli soldiers on the scene. They said the attack occurred about 10 miles outside the capital. There was no immediate official confirmation here of the incident.
