Rumors that the Palestine Government might accede to Arab demands for stoppage of Jewish immigration even before arrival of a Royal Commission to investigate current disorders aroused fears among the Jewish population today.

David Ben-Gurion, chairman of the Palestine Executive of the Jewish Agency, who returned here from London a few days ago, prepared to leave again for England next week. He had been negotiating with British officials about the present disturbances.

Dr. Hussein Khalidi, mayor of Jerusalem, declared tonight to reporters in behalf of himself and the Arab Supreme Committee that the Arabs would not halt their eleven-week-old general strike until demands for stoppage of immigration and sale of land to Jews were fulfilled.

He added that the Arabs would not accept temporary stoppage of immigration or any form of compromise.
